Dear Neighbors, Friends & Visitors,

On behalf of Brookville's elected officials, staff and myself, I would like to say welcome and thank you for visiting our official website. It was specially re-designed to introduce you to our beautiful “Gold Coast” Village and to provide you with accurate and easily available information on Village services and programs. I hope you will find it helpful.

Located on the North Shore of Long Island in Nassau County, Brookville is a small town with a rich history that dates back to colonial times. Our diverse population includes residents from all over the world as well as students in Brookville’s public and private schools and universities from dozens of countries. This serves to give our community a rich mix of cultures. 

We are home to Long Island University’s Post campus, New York Institute of Technology and Lutheran Middle & High Schools. Brookville is in the Jericho Union Free School and Locust Valley School Districts.

For those of you who have chosen Brookville as your home, you already appreciate the many improvements that make Brookville so unique.

Over the past four years, we’ve built a new Brookville Police Department, headed by Chief Kenneth Lack, formerly head of Patrol for the Nassau County Police. Thanks to the Chief and officers, Brookville is now one of the safest villages on Long Island. Additionally, almost every Village Road has seen major or total repaving; our Nature Park has been refurbished and is now a joy to visit, we have a Bird Sanctuary that now allows visitors and planning is underway for a new Police Headquarters/Village Hall — all accomplished without raising Village taxes.  

As your elected mayor, I do not take my position lightly. 

The community we have today does not happen by accident. I believe that our strength as a Village lies in our community — working together to address challenges and to celebrate our successes. 

Positive accomplishments are realized by the combined efforts of so many. Your dedicated Village employees, of course. But also, by the tireless efforts of your pro bono Board of Trustees, as well as the volunteer members of the Planning and Zoning Boards. You can be assured that together we can continue to make Brookville a place of choice for those seeking a combination of natural beauty, outstanding educational facilities, public safety, and a quality of life second to none.
